New Club Welfare Officer
Firstly, thank you to all the members I’ve met so far for the warm welcome.
If I have not yet had the pleasure to meet any of you, please allow me to introduce myself, I am Richard Morris, 58 years old, and have fished since a young teenager, although I’m relatively new to carp fishing, I was previously a Brynmill and District Angling Club member in the late 90’s when the Fendrod hardly had a tree around it.
All angling clubs in Wales were tasked by Angling Cymru, to whom we are affiliated, to appoint welfare officers, and I have been appointed as the new Club Welfare Officer for Brynmill and District Angling Club, which is being supported and led by Angling Cymru, and will provide all our members with help and support over the coming years. I have previously worked in this role in the Fire Service for a number of years.
The role is a contact point within the club for any member to express a concern they have that is member related (looking out for each other basically) whether that be a junior related safeguarding issue or member to member grievance.
This following email address is available for anyone to drop me a message in confidence.
Many thanks
Richard Morris
